When the disciples asked Jesus, “What will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” (Matt. 24:3, NKJV), Jesus answered them by listing several signs that would occur before his second coming—including pestilence, such as COVID-19, and wars similar to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Jesus specifically mentions one sign that will mark the end of time: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matt. 24:14, NKJV).

Mientras escribo este editorial para comenzar el nuevo año, no puedo dejar de pensar en la pena, el dolor y el sufrimiento que dejó la pandemia del COVID-19 y los implacables desastres naturales que nos afectaron el año pasado. Si pudiera prometer que este año será el año de “no más noche, no más dolor, no más lágrimas, nunca más llanto”, como expresa la hermosa canción.

Do you know someone who is always late for meetings? That person might even be you. There is Someone, however, who is always on time. You know who I’m referring to. But when it comes to God’s timing, many draw the wrong conclusion. Personal hardships or calamities and suffering can cause one to question His good and perfect plan.
