The Potomac Conference Executive Committee voted to relocate its administrative office from Staunton, Virginia, to Silver Spring, Maryland, following the Administrative Committee’s recommendation. This decision marked the end of decades of debate and previous unsuccessful efforts to move the office.

Three new families have recently joined the Mountain View Conference (MVC) team.
Jessica Lindao, a member of the Parkersburg (W.Va.) church, has recently accepted a call to serve as the administrative assistant in the MVC office. An answer to prayer, she comes equipped with many talents and skills that will help the office run smoothly. She is married to Juan Rugel, and they have one son, Alex Rugel (pictured above).

Ken Norton, president of the Montana Conference, has accepted the Voice of Prophecy’s invitation to serve as the Discover Bible School director. He will begin his service at the ministry on March 2.
Norton will replace Bill Payne, who recently became the director for Sabbath School and Personal Ministries at the North American Division.

Part of the long to-do list every administrator and Human Resource (HR) and Communication professional has is handling crisis situations. This week’s Columbia Union Secretariat/HR and Communication training themed, “Putting the Pieces Together,” provided resources for this inevitable part of the job.
There are many in the United States who are afraid for their futures, and for the lives of family members. As a Christian denomination in the U.S., the Seventh-day Adventist Church supports the rights of all persons, no matter their country of origin the equal rights provided in the U.S. Constitution and fair treatment as immigrants and refugees in this country.
As members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, we believe that “we are all equal in Christ, who by one Spirit has bonded us into one fellowship with Him and with one another; we are to serve and be served without partiality or reservation” (Fundamental Belief No. 14).

Nearly 700 youth and young adult leaders from across the New Jersey Conference (NJC) and beyond recently gathered at Tranquility Camp in Andover to be trained and equipped with the skills needed to be more effective in their respective ministries. This almost doubles the number of attendees from the previous year.

“Our church had weathered over the years,” says Jonathan D’ugo, pastor of the Berwick church. “Paint had chipped and peeled. Wood frames around windows and doors were rotting. Cement eroded, making the church look bad and creating an unsafe structure.”
