Ohio Conference Office Team Changes

The Ohio Conference office team bids farewell to Edward and Mariya Marton and Kasper Haughton Jr., and welcomes Joseph Ottinger.

Edward served 14 years in Ohio as a senior pastor and another seven years

as the conference’s youth director. His next assignment will be with the Kentucky- Tennessee Conference as youth director and as summer camp director for Indian Creek Camp (Tenn.).

Mariya will also serve the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference as the associate youth director. Over the decades, she ministered in Ohio as a chaplain for Kettering Health, a senior pastor, and as associate youth director for the conference.

Kettering Health and Kettering Adventist Church Team Up for Health Nights for Healthier Lives

Kettering Health physicians and the Kettering Adventist church teamed up to teach members and the community how to live healthier lives.

Cardiologist Harvey Hahn, MD, has a strong passion for healthy living and promoting a healthy lifestyle. So much so, he created a community initiative called Health Night. Health Night is a series of health-related talks Dr. Hahn started in late 2021. Since then, attendees have learned about intermittent fasting, exercise, sleep, skin, stress and anxiety, and building better habits.

Spring Valley Academy Senior Named in National Merit Scholarship Program

Ohio Conference's Spring Valley Academy is pleased to announce that senior Rebekah Shull has been named as a 2023 semifinalist from among the 1.3 million program entrants that entered the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program (NMSP). By taking the 2021 Preliminary SAT/ National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as an initial screen of program entrants, Shull is among the nationwide pool of semifinalists—representing less than one percent of United States high school seniors, which includes the highest scoring entrants in each state.

Join the Ohio Conference for the third annual Bible Read Challenge during January 2023!

Following in the footsteps of the great preacher, H.M.S. Richards, participants will journey through the scriptures during the 31 days of the first month of the year!

Reading the Bible in a month is a different type of study of the scriptures. Rather than sitting down to read your favorite author, or watching that new TV series that launched – we’ll be reading the Bible for the grand narrative of God’s story.
