Kettering College to Host Eleventh Annual Spring into Health 5k

Story by Lauren Brooks

Kettering College will host its eleventh annual Spring into Health 5K run/walk on Sunday, April 7, starting at 2 p.m. at Kettering College (3737 Southern Blvd). The annual event is a fundraiser for Dayton’s Good Neighbor House (75%) and for the college’s Physician Assistant Student Professional Development Fund (25%). This event has generated $59,067.49 in donations to the Good Neighbor House since its beginning.

The cost is just $25 for participants registering before March 12; registration fees go up to $30 from March 13-April 1. Everyone registered by March 12 is guaranteed a t-shirt. Corporate team discounts are available, and all finishers will be entered into a drawing for a new mini iPad. Also, there will be a Wellness and Fun Fair starting at 12:30 p.m. and continuing throughout the race that will feature activities for the whole family. New this year, a silent auction will take place.

Good Neighbor House, founded by eight Dayton-area Adventist churches in 1994, gives help and hope to the underserved in the Dayton community, providing food pantry services, health promotion, clothing and household items to individuals and families in need. The tenth annual race in 2018 had an estimated 300 people in attendance for the cause and raised over $8,000 for Good Neighbor House.
